variety of products in a variety of markets
(e.g., direct, indirect, integrated, and specialty channels);
– compare the advantages and disadvantages
of the various ways of delivering goods
and services (e.g., truck, train, plane, auto,
the Internet) from the producer to the
consumer.
Think of a product you have purchased recently. Name at least 2 channels of distribution used for that product.
Supply Chain
All the activities involved in getting the product from the source to ultimate destination consumer.
Channels of distribution
Paths of ownership that goods follow as they pass from the producer to the consumer.
Logistics
Arranging the product to move along the business organisation to reach the customers, includes transportation, tracking and storage.
