In unit 2, you read information texts about a number of different topics. Perhaps you were familiar with some of these topics from the subjects that you have studied in school, but perhaps some of them were new to you.

What is one subject matter or topic that you believe should be taught in schools, but isn't? Why is this topic important?

Read your classmates' responses and ask a question or share your thoughts on their subject choice.

I think understanding this history is critical to developing awareness and compassion for indigenous communities. At the same time, it is novel knowledge that underscores the importance of reconciliation and the ongoing effort to address historical injustices.

Unit 2 aimed to improve our literacy skills through diverse readings and writing tasks. We read about historical events and modern technology, which helped enhance our comprehension and communication. I connected most with the technology readings as they reflect my future goals. My reading and writing skills improved fast, making it easier to summarize and express ideas clearly. Financial rule should be taught in schools to help me make informed financial decisions in the future.

A topic that I think should be taught in schools but isn't is gratitude. Because being thankful for our parents, friends and teachers is something that is essential in this life.
