Guidelines for Online Contributions - Discussion Forum
Most of the learning modules in this course will require you to post to the discussion forum in addition to engaging in conversations about the learning content with your peers. Therefore, your responsibilities for the course include taking an active collaborative role in the discussions that we have. We are a learning community and therefore depend on one another for our intellectual growth. As such, we will use these discussions as a way to gain insight, be analytic, and be supportive of one another as we move throughout this course. You are welcome to post your entry using text, audio, or video. The choice is yours!
What Makes a Strong Post:
- There is an emphasis on quality over quantity. As high school students, understanding of course content is demonstrated more through reflectivity and thoughtfulness rather than lots of entries with little evidence of learning
- The contribution advances the topic in the discussion forum
- The contribution shares knowledge and builds on what others have contributed to the discussion forum
- The contribution relates to the course content or offers new resources
- The contribution uses real world examples as a way to embed the knowledge into context
